Well, maybe not a mass exodus right now but people are definitely re-thinking their commute time and cost, which may result more people moving closer to work and big cities.  Many times, moving closer to the city means smaller homes, less square feet and less commute time.  However, prices can be higher than in the suburbs.  So, for those looking to buy a home, are you willing to pay a little more for a house to cut down on travel time and commute costs?  That's the question people are asking.  A move like this could be worth an additional $30,000 towards the purchase of a home...

Bio-Tech Firm Genzyme First To Fill Green Space

Yesterday, the guys at Genzyme (NASDAQ: GENZ) held a conference call with green bloggers to discuss their green building efforts.  As far as I know, Genzyme is one of the first bio-tech firms to really embrace and enter the green building space.  Led by Rick Mattila, director of enviornmental affairs, and Lisa Hartman, principal environmental engineer, the group discussed the Genzyme Center (corporate headquarters) based in Cambridge, Mass., which was awarded the LEED-Platinum certification, the highest green rating a building can receive.  When asked what was the biggest bang for their buck in building the Genzyme Center, Rick responded...

Eco Investment Club GreenMeet Tonight! [San Diego]

Yeves Perez, founder and chief visionary officer of the Eco Investment Club, is hosting a GreenMeet tonight in San Diego.  If you haven't heard or don't know about the Eco Investment Club, the mission statement is the following:

"To support the progression of the green movement by promoting sustainable businesses, providing eductation, networking and relationship building opportunities, and eco-investing, which ultimately drives the green economy."

Tonight's GreenMeet is from 7-9pm at The Eco Center for Alternative Fuel Education (on 1st floor...see map here).  The guest speaker is John Stein, Chairman of the Board, Founder and CEO of Kirei USA.  And the keynote speaker is Ronald J.
