Also, if you didn't get your hands on a Wall Street Journal today, you missed an opinion piece written by T. Boone Pickens titled "My Plan to Escape the Grip of Foreign Oil" where Mr. Pickens outlines his 10-year plan to reduce America's reliance on foreign oil by more than 1/3 over the next 5 to 10 years. Very interesting piece and well-deserved dialogue. He sees the writing on the wall and feels an extreme urgency to get out from under the shadow of foreign oil.
Great article. Great blog.

Wind energy seems to be all the rage these days, but I really know nothing about it. I'll have to look into it more, thanks for the post.

Has anyone heard of a magnetic generator? They claim to be able to make energy without any outside input. Basically, a perpetual motion machine. Could this really happen?

Tbone is right - wind power and green energy are badly needed in this country. He has never missed an opportunity to plug his business in the national media either, but more power to him.

I agree that updating of building codes for better energy efficiency is the key. I have started a company called Greenplan that offers green house plans on the web. Our designs are by far more holistically "green" than what any other company is offering. Please visit www.greenplanhomes.com to see what we are trying to do and help us by spreading the word!
I inivite all for comments and criticism. Our objective is to get green housing to the middle class at an affordable price. Currently green homes are still very unaccessible to most and Greenplan is aimed at getting green housing out to the public who needs it most and probably cant afford an architect

Has anyone heard of zero point energy? I'm not sure if it is a concept or a reality.Drawing energy from around us is a great way forward. It really is silly that we are still using fossil fuels. If you have not read about it , look up zero point energy.
