If you have been living in a cave the past couple of weeks, then you missed T. Boone Pickens' plan (see video above) for reducing our dependence on foreign oil. T. Boone is an oil tycoon that made more money on crude than many of us can even begin to comprehend. Now, he is backing alternative energy (wind, solar, etc.) as a way for us to successfully survive and not put every penny into our gas tank. On a different note, ff you want some perspective to our current situation, check out this
article in the NY Times written on December 1, 1990. Seems like the airlines complain about the price of crude oil regardless of price. That industry is jacked up anyway.
Pickens has made a huge bet in this area and is a smart investor with a good track record, so wind power is worth considering investing in. Of course, not all of us own wind farms, but you can find a Green or Socially Responsible Investment Advisor at www.claroconnect.com to help you look at alternative energy funds or more in-depth investments.

Hopefully with Pickens standing behind wind power more people will invest as well.

This is a good thing for a company to change its legacy. Having a name in the fuel industry, this is a great opportunity to influence others that we can make a difference in the things that we do. The idea of gearing towards a sustainable energy source is a great contribution to the environment.

I wonder if we can convert our family's ride here in Edmonton into an electric car. It's a jeep, by the way. If that's possible, then I guess I'll convert! My wife's pro-environment, so I think she'll accept that decision. If we can't convert it, I wonder if the dealers here can offer me an electric car.,
